How a Simple Mindset Shift Can Change Everything You See
I recently found myself on the road again, heading to a Mastermind in Austin, TX. ✈️ I’m no stranger to airports, but this trip surprised me in the best of ways.
I was expecting harassed airline and airport workers, cranky travelers, and travel delays. And all of those can be found if you look for them. What I experienced instead was the kindness of strangers…
✨ The woman sitting a row behind a mom with a toddler, who helped her stow her luggage while making silly faces at the baby.
✨ The man who gave up his overhead compartment space to help someone seated in the first row of the plane.
✨ A smiling airport attendant who answers the same question one thousand times, yet does so with genuine warmth and a desire to help travelers.
Kindness is everywhere, IF you look for it.
And it made me think about what else I’m “looking for.”
Am I seeing business opportunities, service opportunities, new ways to meet old goals, or potential partnerships because I’m actively looking for them? Or am I moving through life without truly seeing what’s right in front of me?
What are you seeing today?
And what are you LOOKING for?
What would change for you and me if we changed how—and what—we are looking for? Like the childhood game of “I Spy” or “Slugbug,” I challenge you today to be intentional about what you’re looking for. Share it with me. Maybe I can play “pinch, poke, you owe me a Coke” with you. And I invite you to do the same for me. Who knows what we can “see” together!
