The Mindset Shift That Transforms Your Performance (Every Time)

This past season, I had the extreme privilege of speaking to a room of 250 powerful women as one of two stage speakers. The opening keynote was given by Dr. Cindra Kamphoff, a mental strength coach who has worked with organizations like the Minnesota Vikings. I was awe-struck by her talent and experience… until I realized I had to follow her!

As my thoughts began racing, I realized I needed to focus on my mission, not the temptations of the moment. As a leadership strategist and coach, my job wasn’t to compete (or even compare); it was to serve. This shift in focus was steadied by these THREE things: 👇

When you boil it down, your focus should always be zeroed in on your mission. The comparison, the temptation to be competitive, the protection of your ego—all fall away when you embrace your mission above all else.

I delivered my talk, and it went well. The evaluation scores proved that the message resonated. Many women pulled me aside afterward to share the part of my talk that spoke most to them, asking for help, and even scheduling coffee dates. I am filled with gratitude for the work I get to do and the community I serve.

Your Next Step:
If you’re heading into a professional situation that has you on edge, let me encourage you to focus on your mission and how you can serve. Then, let your community support you. Both will do wonders for your performance and your relationships.
