I Said It Out Loud And Everything Changed

Three weeks ago, I was at lunch with eight professional women in my network. Somewhere in the middle of the conversation, I slapped my hand on the table and said it out loud.

That’s it. We’re doing it. We’re having a conference for professional women in Rapid City.”

I had no name for it. No date. No venue. No plan. Just a sentence I had been quietly carrying for longer than I want to admit.

Here is what happened next. 👇

None of that existed three weeks ago. The only thing that changed is that I said it out loud.

Here is what I keep noticing about women at altitude. We have been trained to arrive ready. To bring the plan, the deck, the strategy, the budget, and the timeline. To never put anything into the world that we cannot fully back up the moment someone asks. That training has served us. It is part of how we got here.

And it is also the reason so many of us are sitting on something we have not yet said out loud.

The thing you are carrying right now does not need a plan yet. It does not need a website, a launch date, or a fully formed offer. It needs to be said out loud, in front of someone who can help you carry it.

Because here is what I learned three weeks ago when I made my unplanned declaration:

🤏TINY TWEEK Challenge

What is the thing you have been carrying that you have not yet said out loud? Say it to one person this week.

You will be surprised what shows up on the other side of that sentence.
